Jenna rode her black and white mustang paint gelding. He had been captured and trained by her. Now he was the loyalest horse she ever had. She patted his neck as they rode along, heading toward Black Jack Mountain. She wanted to see the mustangs, and see what they had. She wanted to capture one this summer and train it, since she had sold a couple of her mustangs and needed another horse really bad. She looked around the gorgeous scenry. Her gelding, Spike was curiously walking around, he knew the territory well, and he walked along unphased by everything.

The red roan mare sighed softly as she made her way around one of the hidden traisl around the mountain. She carried her self proud. Her head was always carried tall, her ears pricked up on her head. If there was one thing for sure, this mare was always on alert for anything that could harm her. Unlike some horses, she just wasn't the one to walk right up to a human, or a tamed horse.
Hearing a snap of a twig above her in the tree's, the roan leaped forwards. Her ears immediately pinned back against her scull as she navigaited her way down the hill easily. Her hooves dug into the ground, making it easy for the mustang cross to get down the hill. Once she reached flat ground, the roan bucked her hind legs into the air and raced forwards.
Whiskey Lullaby came flying out of the woods, and almost ran into a horse and rider. Snorting the slammed on her hind quarters, ears immediatly pinned, she stopped just a few feet away from the horse and rider. Squealing angerly, the roan backed up a few feet and spun around, then loped off. Her body was muscular, because of the quarter horse bloodline in her. And if you weren't good at knowing breeds, you would have thought she was just a well musceld mustang. Picking up a fast lope, the mare stopped on a hill. A hind leg was thingyed as she threw her head into the air, watching to see what the human and horse would do next.

The girl looked over to see the running mare. Her horse whinnied to the horse and knew what the horse was thinking. Oh my gosh, a human! I'm gonna die. Jenna kicked Duke into a gallop after the horse. Duke chased after the mare, Jenna got her rope ready and she tried to get closer. The mare had slowed down a bit and Duke caught up quickly. Jenna threw the rope and it caught around her neck. Jenna quickly tied her end of the rope to the saddle horn. Duke kept the rope tight and nickered to the mare, as to try and calm her and tell her nothing bad would happen, and that the human wasn't gonna hurt her.

Hearing hoof beats come after her, Whiskey kicked her hind legs back out into the air. Her bodice was tall, unlike most mustangs, it was the quarter horse blood flowing through her. Once she had stopped, Whiskey knew that had been a bad mistake. Squealing she tried to run, but the paint gelding was hot on her heals. Kicking her hind legs into the air again, the roan bolted forwards.
The mare hadn't gotten very far when something wizzed above her head. Jurking her head up, Whiskey see something that she saw humans used alot.. Ropes? Snorting loudly as the rope started to land, Whiskey tried ducking her head down, but it was already around her head.
Suddenly the mare was jurked around. The rider had tied the rope to something on the saddle, and the paint gelding was holding the rope tight. Whinnying angerly, Whiskey lunged forwards, and then bolted backwards again. Only tightening the already tight rope around her neck. There was no way she was going down with out a fight. It just wasn't her nature to not to do so.

Duke snorted and backed away from the mare when she charged at him. He was told to move back toward the ranch, he drug the mare. Jenna looked back to the mare. 'She's gonna be a wild one, like you were Duke." She says and rubbed his neck. Jenna looked back at the mare. "Easy girl, relax." She whispered. The mare was gorgeous, not a full mustang like Duke was. She was a very beautiful horse though. Duke kept dragging the mare down the rather large mountain.

Whiskey wasn't going to give in all that easily. She squealed, it was getting hard to breath because of the rope, and yet she didn't give in. Her nostrils flared as she was drug. More then likely back to where the girl kept her horses. Whinnying, Whiskey tried to rear, but couldn't and ended up being drug forwards again. Whiskey squealed and shook her head again. This time at being drug down the mountian.. her new home.. and the sound of the girl talking. She didn't think she was going to like this new home.. or where ever they were going.

After a long time, some stable hands came up and put some more ropes on the mare that way Duke didn't have to pull so much. They headed to the ranch and they led her inside a big round pen and let her go after they got out. Duke stood watching the mare. He nickered to her. Jenna let the stable hands take Duke and put him awak. She watched the mare and sighed. She didn't like this part of catching horses.

Whiskey kicked out angerly as more people came up to them after what seemed to be a long time. The mare's roan bodice was drenched in sweat. More ropes were put on the mustang cross, which only made her fight harder. But because of the more ropes, it was hard to fight. Seeing a pen a head, the mare tried bracing her self, not wanting to go into it, but eventually she was pulled into it. Once she was let loose, the red roan raced around the pen, trying to find some spot to get out of the pen, or to jump out. She heard the gelding's nicker, but ignored it. She was determined to find some way to get out of this pen.

Jenna watched the horse, the pen being a good 10-11 feet tall, and was metal, so she wasn't gonna break through it anytime soon. She wished the horse would calm down. The mare would go without food and water for a couple days, that way the horse would have to come to her and relie on her for food and water, that way she might start trusting more. She hoped anyway. If it didn't she could let the horse go back to the wild.

Whiskey tossed her head back and forth, as she tried to get her head over the top of the metal pannels. After no sucsess the mare tossed her head and stood in the middle of the pen, a long whinny coming from her as she tossed her scull up and down, then trotted around the pen some more, not knowing what was going on, or why she was in here.
Towards the evening, Whiskey calmed down and eventually stood in the back of the pen, scull still raised, but was only watching everything going on around her. The sweat from earlier was dried, but there was a new coat from just a few hours ago. Tossing her head the mare walked around the pen, then retreated to the back again.

Jenna went and trained some horses, then fed horses that evening. She didn't feed or water the mare. She walked to the pen and watched her for a long time. Then went into the house and ate and went to bed. She came out in the morning, early and fed, going back in for breakfast. She trained horses throughout the day, and evening came again and she walked to the round pen. She held out her hand to the mare.

Whiskey didn't understand why she didn't get any food and the other horses did. She whinnied and tossed her head up and down, and tried to stick it over the top to watch the other horses, but couldn't. The fencing was too tall. Pinning her ears, she struck out at the fence, not trying to get out, but mad that she didn't get any food. She knew that they were all getting some type of food.
The next morning, the mare ran around the round pen, a bit, still confused at why she didn't get any food. That evening she snorted loudly through her nose, and watched Jenna when she came into the round pen and held out her hand. The mare pranced by the end of the round pen, and watched her, snorting the whole time. But she didn't try to hurt her, just stayed back.

Jenna watched the mare quietly. "Easy girl." She says. If the horse just turned to face her, she would give her some food, and a small bucket of water. She waited patiently for the horse just to pay some respect, just a little bit. She then turned her back, to see if that helped any. Some horses responded to different jestures and body language.

The read roan tossed her head up and down and pinned her ears slightly as she was watched. As Jenna turned her back on the mare, Whiskey tossed her head up and down again. She turned her body slightly so she was slightly facing Jenna, and crow hopped slightly. But she didn't try and do any thing mean.

Jenna glanced back to see if the mare had faced her. The mare had, to a point. It was better then nothing though. she saw her ears were pinned though, so she waited till she calmed down and felt a little more comfortable. Once she did, Jenna walked out of the pen and gave the mare a small flake of hay, and a 5 gallon bucket of water. She watched the mare eat.
