I stepped back as he sniffed in my face. Ew, I said softly. I wipped my face and looked back to the stallion. He was really close now. If I made one wrong move i was in big trouble. I slowly reached up and went to touch his facce. The thunder began to rumble but I hardly noticed it. The sun wasnt going to be bright today. The crickets were still cheerping and the flys still buzzing. I shooed one off my face not keeping my eyes off the stallion. He was so amazing to me. I never met a wild horse like him. I promise to protect you, I said quietly. I knew though he could hear me. Jack came out of the bunk house and watched me. I didnt hear or notice him at all. my whole focus was on this horse.

Sinner watched her hand wipe her face off. He thought the hands looked very weird. He reached over and sniffed her hand, seeing it wasn't gonna hurt him. He looked back to her, ignoring the thunder. He saw her hand shoo a fly from her face and it went in his ear. He shook his head and got it out and watched her hand touch his face. He took in a deep breathe then waited. He pushed his head up, so her hand would move on his face. He wanted to know what it felt like to be petted. This girl wasn't any danger to him. She was just standing there, he was very interested in her.

Jack watched quietly. He realized it was the same stally from yesterday. He was sure he would try to do something again but stood his ground. Meanwhile I stroked the stallion face. His coat felt soft on my hands. I smiled and continued to look in his eyes. Your not so bad, I said to him. So wheres your family? I asked him. Usually a stallion his age had one mare atleast. He was so pretty up close. I was still stroking his face. The winds were getting harsher. The horses were getting more and more uneasy. It was then I looked to the storm. It was moving in fast. Better be carefull storms coming, I said to him.

The horse listened to the girls soft words. He of course didn't understand them at all. He didn't have a herd, because he left his. And he didn't want to be a normal mustang and start a herd. He told his dam and sire that, and so they started to call him Sinner. But not only did he want to start a herd, he wanted to know what the two -legged were all about. And the herd pretty much kicked him out. He didn't mind. He could feel the wind kick up, and a few sprinkles of rain hit his face. He watched the girl, he didn't want to move. He was enjoying the stroking on his face. He closed his eyes. He then felt a presents, another human. But he could feel that this human wasn't trusting, and was a little more... un-like the one he had infront of him. Then a loud crash of thunder hit and the gate on the round pen flung shut again. He jumped sideways out of the girls way, careful not to hit her and he turned around and looked about, he saw the boy. His ears pinned back and then he cantered off.

The thunder made me jump. I watched as the horse cantered off. Cale get inside!, shouted Jack. I looked back to the horse then ran to the porch. Storm seems pretty bad, he said. I nodded. The horses were galloping around their paddock. This storm made me nervous. Come on lets get breakfast, I said and we headed inside.

The horse found some trees just outside of the ranch and stood underneath of them, until the storm blew over and the sun came out a little. He looked around and he grazed on the grass around the tree. His body was wet, and cold. He started to walk back to the ranch and stood in view, but at quite a distance. The boy had scared him, he didn't like the boy. But something inside of him wanted to see that girl again. He looked at the horses in the paddocks. They were well groomed, he started to think about how good looking he may be if he got his mane and tail brushed through. He shook the thought from his head and moved closer to the paddocks and grazed near them, studying the horses.

The horses in the paddock sstood at the fence and studied Sinner. They thought he was an interesting horse being that he wasnt behind a fence. Jack and I sat at the table eating. I had made eggs, bacon and biscuits with gravey. I wiped my mouth and looked outside. The storm has passed, I said. I was anxious to get back outside to find the stallion again. When we finished our breakfast Jack went outside to check on the horses. He noticed the mustang standing alittle ways away. He shook his head and smirked. There was something about this mustang that made him wonder.
When I finished with the dishes I grabbed an apple out of the fridge and headed outside. Jack had went to the barn to clean tack. I looked around then noticed the mustang was still there. I smiled and went to walk over to him. I stood a few feet away and held out the apple. You want it? I asked him smiling as i looked into his eyes.

Sinner watched the horses, thinking they were weird as they thought he was weird. He whinnied to them and looked to the house, he saw the boy walking out to check on horses. He shook his head and snorted. He stood there longer then reached through the fence the best he could to taste the grass on the other side. He heard footsteps and he took his head out and he saw teh girl. He looked at the apple and reached hsi nose out to it. He sniffed it then stepped back and snorted a little. He watched it for a little bit then he reached out and grabbed it from her hand and bit into, dropping the other half on teh ground. He chewed at it and then he lifted his upper lip, sucking in the air.

I watched him eat the apple. I laughed at the face he made after he ate the first half. He was wet and his mane and tail were tangled. I thought I could bring out a brush and start to brush him. I didnt want to rush it though. I wasnt planning on taming him anyways. But I would love to see his coat clean. It would make him pretty though. I reached up and stroked his face once again. He was such a sweet horse for being wild. Jack walked out of the barn to see where I was. He shook his head when he saw me with the mustang. He kinda laughed to himself. She never gives up, he said to himself.

The thing was, this mustang...wasn't wild. He came from a wild herd but deep down he was tame. He just needed to be exposed to things the two-legged did to their horses. He let her pet his face, enjoying it. Then reached down and ate the other half of the apple. He lifted his back up and chewed on it. He pulled the same face he had earlier then wiped his slober on her arm. He looked to the horses in the paddock beside him, them to the girl. He nudged the girl then began to walk toward their barn.

I laughed at his facial expression again. When he wipped the slober on my arm I made a funny face. Eww, I said and wipped the slober on my shorts. I stroked his face once more. I watched him and smiled. I moved out of his way as he walked forward towards the barn. I looked at him curious of what he was doing. I followed him. Jack in the mean time watched with a funny look on his face. What is this mustang up to, he said to himself. He shook his head and continued to watch. Where are you going? I asked the mustang. I continued to follow him to the barn.

Sinner moved into the barn and looked around, standing in the doorway. He snorted a little, watching everything inside. He stepped in more and looked in a stall then the next. He sniffed the ground underneath of him, then slowly moved in some more. He saw a hay bale and he took a bite out of it, and chewed the hay. It tasted good, he liked it. So he grabbed another bite. He looked back to Charlie and nickered to her.

I followed the stallion to the barn. I laughed as he nickered to me taking a bite of the hay. I walked over and sat on a bale of hay next to the one he was eating from. I began to stroke his face once more. I watched as he ate but was still alert with everything around him. I felt safe in the presence of a horse. I knew if there was any danger the horse woulod detect it. when he lowered his head again I stroked his face. I began to try to untangle his bangs. I tried not to pull on his hair but I couldnt help it. I wanted to go get a brush and comb but knew it was to early for that.
The wind was still blowing and the flies were still buzzing. The sun was out just if it hadnt rained early this morning. The air was muggy. I felt like maybe giving Attitude and Remedy baths today but since it rained it wasnt necessary. I finished untangling his bangs. There thats better, I said and stroked his face. I stood up and began to stroke his neck. I figured if I could get him use to the feeling of something running over his coat then he wouldnt mind a brush. I knew this wasnt right trying to domesticate a wild mustang but I couldnt help it. He was just so differnet from any of the other mustangs.
I continued to run my hands over his coat. I ran them acoss his shoulders and over his back. Jack soon came out of the tack room. Im heading to town you need anything? he asked me. I shook my head no. He nodded and walked to the truck. he had to buy horse feed today. I looked back to Sinner. So what do they call you?, I asked him. I sat back down on the bale of hay looking into his eyes.

Sinner looked at her as she sat down. He sniffed the bale then took some more bites out of it. He felt her fingers trying to untangle his forelock. It felt funny to have it pulled on, but he just raised his head a little and his ears twitched. Then he lowered his head after feeling more comfortable and let her untangle the .. dredlocks on his head. He let her rub his face afterwards.
He felt her hands explore to his neck, it was different, but he didn't mind. He chewed on the bale of hay and then put his head up and looked back at her as she rubbed his back. He didn't mind it. It just felt different, something he would get use to because it felt good. He bobbed his head up and down when she hit his itchy spot on his back. The thing was with Sinner, he kinda wanted to be domesticated, because to his herd it was a sin to be tamed and they named him Sinner fot it.
He saw Jack and jumped a little and snorted loudly. He moved so he was facing the boy, still snorting and his ears slightly pinned. But the boy kept walking and Sinner felt undangered. He looked back to Cale and tried to understand her words, but he couldn't He looked into the girls little eyes, chewing on the hay still in his mouth.

Finding his itchy spot I continued to scratch it for awhile. We use to have a horse that had a itchy spot on his chest. I ran my hands across his back once again and over his rump. When I was finished I went back over and sat on the bale of hay. I looked into his eyes. His name was Sinner because his family thought it was a sin to want to be domesticated. Sinner, I said. Hmm, I humed and stroked his face.
I thought it would be fun to ride this mustang. Since he knew that land well to explore it with him would be an adventure. I hoped though that he wouldnt get caught and used for something else. Like with the rodeos in the nearby town they caught these mustangs to ride them in the rodeo. I liked the rodeo only 'cause I barrel raced. But the rodeo had gotten real mean since they discovered the mustangs. I came back to reality. I sighed and stroked the stallion face.
